Sanctuary Farms is a true family-owned and managed business operation that grows award-winning rare and exciting sun-grown cultivars that rival the quality of indoor buds. Ramon Garcia, co-founder of the Equity Trade Network, co-founded Sanctuary Farms with his brother-in-law Joao Pires and sister Eliza Garcia-Pires. Ramon handles the day-to-day operations with his daughter Makayla, who oversees marketing and sales. They have some really special terpene-rich cultivars that people seek out because of their loud and appealing aroma profiles. Everything is grown in living soil in Nevada County and Mendocino County, California. A personal favorite is their Sour Guava, which is very sweet and fruity.
I first met Ramon about two months after I got out of prison at the Emerald Cup Judges’ Party at a ranch in Mendocino County. We bonded over running packs down from Willits to the Northern California cities in the early medical days, and we have been friends ever since. Ramon has a strong vision and mission with the Equity Trade Network to show the world that social equity and justice-impacted legacy brands can not just share shelf space with well-funded corporate cannabis but flourish thanks to the quality of their products. ETN created an exclusive equity-certified dispensary at the California State Fair this summer that showcased quality cannabis from legacy operators, which was a really unique accomplishment.
Most importantly, Sanctuary Farms just grows excellent cannabis. Check them out.
